A success story.
When brothers Giuseppe and Genesio Ballan founded the company in 1970, they not only began production of rolling shutters but, with the enthusiasm shared by many entrepreneurs from Italy’s Veneto region, laid the foundations for a large industrial project that would evolve over the years. The following are the main steps in the company’s history:
- 1978
opening of the new factory at Villa del Conte (PD) and start-up of production of metal counterweight up-and-over doors - 1979
replacement of traditional shearing machines and folding presses for shaping steel sheets with rollformers, a major innovation for the period - 1980
start-up of production of Linealegno up-and-over doors, still today one of the company’s most prestigious products - 1993
opening of the second factory in Tombolo (PD) - 1994
introduction of original cold welding process for the galvanized steel sheets along with hardened joints that prevent the removal of zinc (and consequently the risk of oxidation) - 1998
Ballan S.p.A. became the first company in its sector to gain UNI EN ISO 9001 quality system certification - 1999
creation of panel with aluminium joint (Ballan patent) and start-up of production of New Age sectional doors - 2004
adaptation of entire production to safety requirements dictated by harmonized product standard EN 13241-1 (in force as of May 2005) - 2005
all Ballan S.p.A. products gain CE marking and carry the CE declaration of conformity - 2008
the 9000 sq.m extension to the factory in Villa del Conte (PD). The complex will also house the new administrative centre - 2010
