Complete safety
means avoiding all risks

The apparent harmlessness of a garage door is entirely due to sophisticated suspension and balancing systems that control its operation and make it seemingly lightweight and easy to operate. But in reality it is a heavy structure whose weight is directly proportional to its quality of construction, break-in resistance and comfort.

In the unfortunate event of damage to or breakage of the suspension and balancing systems, the door will inevitably become uncontrollable and fall, with dire consequences. But that’s not all: the moving parts of the door create levers that can pinch or – even worse – cut fingers.

In the case of doors equipped with an operator it is the electric motor that generates the movement. If the motor does not have control over the force it exerts, there is a risk of the door crushing whatever is in its way and will not stop if an object – a hand for example – is placed between moving parts.

Harmonised European Product Standard EN 13241-1, in force since 2005, requires all garage doors to be designed to protect the safety of users and equipped with safety devices to prevent falling and uncontrolled movements. The CE Marking and CE Declaration of Conformity guarantee compliance with the EN 13241-1 Product Standard.

All Ballan products fully meet legal requirements as they are equipped with fall prevention devices and comply with the minimum safety spaces and impact forces. This is a clear demonstration of the importance that the company attaches to its customers’ safety.
